Tycho, California’s sensational ambient, psychedelic, post rock, and electronic music artist is bringing his signature sounds to the Hearst Greek Theatre!

Tycho is the name of composer, songwriter, and producer Scott Hansen’s ambient music project. Scott was born in San Francisco in 1976 and his musical style is a blend of downtempo vintage-style synthesizers and ambient melodies. It sounds very organic and he makes it distinct by using the human element; he includes clips of things like weather broadcasts, simple talking, or even breathing in his songs. Tycho was influenced by artists such as DJ Shadow, Ulrich Schnauss, Boards of Canada and it uses lo-fi analog sounds while also sounding progressive and futuristic in composition. During live performances, Tycho’s line-up consists of Scott (synthesizers, guitar, bass guitar, visuals, programming), Zac Brown (bass guitar, guitar), Rory O'Connor (drums), and Joe Davancens (bass guitar, keyboards, synthesizers). Tycho’s anthology consists of 4 studio albums, 2 extended plays, 12 singles, 1 remix album, and they’ve also had a stellar performance at the Bonnaroo music festival. Tycho has also remixed tracks by renowned artists such as Little Dragon, Ulrich Schnauss, Thievery Corporation, Spoon, and Death Cab for Cutie. Their latest album comes out in 2016 and its lead single (Division) was released through music streaming services like Apple Music, Spotify and Soundcloud.
