Glass Animals, England’s sensational indie rock artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Hearst Greek Theatre!
The band was formed in Oxford in 2012 and consists of Dave Bayley (lead vocals, guitar, tambourine), Drew MacFarlane (guitar, keys, backing vocals), Edmund Irwin-Singer (bass, keys, backing vocals), and, Joe Seaward (drums). They’re childhood friends since they were 14 years old and they banded together after they finished school. They released their debut EP (Leaflings) while they were still at university and it got the attention of Paul Epworth (music producer, musician, and songwriter who’s worked with renowned artists such as Adele, Florence and the Machine, Coldplay, Cee Lo Green, Foster the People, U2, John Legend, Lianne La Havas, Paul McCartney, Bruno Mar, and many more). He signed the band onto his record label (Wolf Tone) in 2013 and they released their eponymous EP (featuring the hit single Black Mambo) shortly afterwards. The following year, the band released their debut album Zaba; a psychedelic indie pop record featuring a blend of electronics and indie guitar music, produced by both Dave and Paul. The band has performed at numerous renowned festivals such as Glastonbury, Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Reading/Leeds, Falls, Southbound and Bestival. Their new album titled How to be a Human Being is scheduled for release on the 26th of August 2016.
